The holidays are often a wonderful time, however, it can be a tough season for many folks who come to the Kitchen. To bring some joy, we offer a number of additional services during the holiday season.
Baskets: St. Peter’s distributes about 100 food baskets the week before Thanksgiving. We have closed the sign-up for Thanksgiving baskets. Please call 211 for information on other Thanksgiving programs that may be available.
Thanksgiving Meal: At noon on Thanksgiving (Nov 23 in 2023), we will serve a full holiday meal at the Kitchen – eat in or take it to go. All are welcome
Toy Store: every year, we run a toy store where community members can pick out new toys and gifts for children in their household (children 12 and under). If you are interested in signing up to “shop” in the Store, please come to St. Peter’s the week of November 13-17 (Mon-Fri) during lunch (12:00 – 1:00 PM). For kids ages 0-12 years old. Please bring ID for adults and kids in the household and proof of address. Zip codes served in the Toy Store: 14604, 06, 08, 11, 14, and 19.
Toys Needed!! we need to fill the toy store will lots of great toys and gifts for children ages 12 and under. Board games, dolls, arts and crafts, books are needed. Please watch this space for more info about how and when you can drop off toys for the Store.
Christmas meal: on Friday, December 22 from noon to 1 pm, we will serve a feast with all the fixins’ to all you come to the Kitchen. Eat in or carry out. Another great volunteer opportunity. If you are interested in a fulfilling way to spend Christmas please contact us about volunteering.
