Announcing the Winners of Our 2020 Virtual Golf Tournament Raffle
As many of you know, we could not hold our annual golf tournament this year because of COVID-19 restrictions, so we decided to hold a “Virtual Golf Tournament” on our scheduled date of September 11, 2020. Everyone that contributed was entered into a raffle of many great prizes. Virtual players received one raffle ticket for every $50 donated. The drawing was held September 11. The winning ticket numbers (many more than we thought we would have} are listed below.
We are pleased to report that St. Peter’s Kitchen raised a total of $7,075 from 36 donors. All the prizes were donated, to that’s all net proceeds. Mark your calendar now for 2021’s in-person tournament at Eagle Vale Country Club, to be held Friday, Sept. 10.
To ensure privacy of donors, we list only the prizes and winning ticket numbers. All certificates will be mailed directly to the winner. Larger gifts will be delivered by a Golf Committee Member. Please call 585-235-6511 for more information.

Back-to-School Backpack Program
Every August, the school year begins for our community members with a flurry of activity at SPK. For many years, we have put on the Backpack Program- a school supply and book-bag giveaway for kids in the community going back to school.
This year, due in large part to the efforts and generosity of the , we were able to give out 126 backpacks with grade-appropriate supplies inside! Students face enough barriers to success at school without having to worry about having the basics for class, so we are grateful that through the persistent support of our funders and volunteers we were able to promote these students’ academic success.
We are pleased to welcome Jerry Lupien as our new development coordinator / bookkeeper. Jerry has been volunteering for a number of years in helping to set up our accounting system and fundraising data management system as well as cooking on occasion. Jerry’s daughter Mary has also previously served as kitchen manager and assistant director at St. Peter’s Kitchen.
We warmly welcome Carren Gallagher as our Assistant Manager. Caren recently returned to Rochester after a successful career in New Hampshire. She has served in many positions with Meals on Wheels including as field supervisor and site manager. She is a certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and has served as Lieutenant with the Stratham, NH Fire Department.
We are thrilled to welcome Charyleah Cordone to our staff in the dual role of Kitchen Manager and Bookkeeper. Char comes to us with a wealth of experience in food service and business management. She owned and operated the popular Rochester Club Ballroom on East Ave. for 18 years and before that was general manager of the Top of the Plaza restaurant at Midtown Plaza.
